Changelog for Post-Jam Version 0.1.3.1

With the first real community event coming to a close and Halloween upon us, we feel like it's time for a few smaller announcements and another update! Haven't heard of the event? It's been exclusive to our Discord, feel free to join!

Changelog

CONTENT

  • We, the developers, assure you that we have added nothing scary to the game today. Nothing at all. If something seems amiss during your playthrough, or you feel a rapid spike in your stress levels for some unknown reason, take a deep breath and know: It's all your fault. Nothing is wrong. 

BALANCING

  • The amount of supplies available at the start of the game has been reduced. (15 -> 12)
  • A resource cap has been introduced to both supplies and medicine. 
    • You can now only hold 15 supplies by default.
    • You can now only hold 8 medicine by default.
    • Events ("Go Outside") and research are  able to raise these caps or let resources temporarily overflow.
    • A dark red is now applied if any of your resources hit capacity, a bright orange if your resources are overflowing.
    • In future updates, it will most likely be easier to gauge how close to maximum capacity you are.
  • Several research items have been adjusted or freshly added.
    • "Hidden Stash" now gives more supplies (8 -> 10) and its bonuses can overflow your storage capacity.
    • "Dead Heading" no longer gives you a herb guaranteed everytime you go out. There is now a 50/50 chance on a supply run.
    • "Taking Inventory" & "Spring Cleaning" added to the available research options with more to come soon.

BUGFIXES 

  • Fixed an issue where Kein could be "recovering from injuries" they never had during specific events.
  • Fixed an issue where the fireplace magically lit itself at the start of every run.

OTHER

  • Changed phrasing of the time of day "day" to "daytime" to avoid confusion when a run ends. ("made it to day 8, day" before)
  • Changed phrasing of how the garden is referred to, to be more in line with our initial vision.
  • Changed events were the wrong pronouns were used for Kein by accident. There might still be some left - feel free to report any issues!
  • Made a certain situation from the last patch slightly easier to encounter for more casual players - however, it does remain easily missable and is a secret that has to be actively sought out.

Aaaand probably many more things I forgot to write down!

There will be one more update adding a feature to hold escape to quickly reset back to title, gauge supply caps more easily and add more event variations from the Discord event, but after that, all of our focus will be on story mode! (: 

STORY MODE WILL BE COMING IN 2021.
